Penny Ralston-Berg is an author, consultant, and award-winning instructional designer with more than 20 years of online course design experience. Her research interests include learner perspectives of quality and how this impacts design practice; growth of instructional designers from novice to expert; and the use of games and simulations as professional development for instructional designers. She is a former chair of the Quality Matters Instructional Designers Association and the inaugural recipient of UPCEA's Outstanding Service in Postsecondary Instructional Design Award.
